The Stranglers




I've been a fan of this band since 1980 when I picked up a copy of their first live album in the bargain bin at Woolworths. Since then I've seen them live in all four line-ups approaching fifty times, and I never tire of seeing them perform. Albums and singles are getting a little less frequent than they used to be, but the recent "Suite XVI" and "Norfolk Coast" have been a stunning return to form and, making a change for the last few years, well reviewed by the media. In November last year they played three dates, almost thirty years to the day since their first major tour, played exactly the same songs in the same order, and it was great. The DVD "Rattus at the Roundhouse" captured the London gig in high quality and is well worth a look for any rock fan.
